Transportation

• A senior Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Tom currently serves as the Ranking Republican on the Aviation Subcommittee.  He served for 12 years as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit and is a nationally-recognized leader on transportation issues.

• Successful in making sure Wisconsin motorists receive back their fair share of federal gas taxes we pay.  In the past, as little as 75 cents in federal highway funds were returned to our State for every $1 in gas taxes we paid.  But now, thanks to Tom’s efforts, we receive back more than a dollar in federal highway funds for every dollar we send to Washington.

• Preserved needed rail service for shippers on the Plymouth Line in Sheboygan County.

• Successful in fighting for federal funding to meet State priorities to improve and expand airports around the district.
