Supporting Wisconsin's Dairy Farmers |
• Supports the MILC program to treat Wisconsin dairy farmers more equitably and fights regional programs that unfairly disadvantage our farmers. • Opposed proposal in 2006 to impose a tax on dairy producers. • Votes in support of conservation programs to support farmers and benefit the environment. • Promotes and encourages the use of ethanol as an alternative source of energy, which helps the Wisconsin economy while offering environmental benefits and reducing our dependence on foreign oil. • In summer 2006 requested that Agriculture Secretary issue an interim decision on a new Make Allowance for the Federal Milk Marketing Order to provide needed relief for our dairy processors.
